I am so grateful to the suggestion I read in the web about prefering the cama instead of the semi-cama service where I could find it in the bus companies. The 12hr ride from Rio Gallegos to Puerto Madryn passed by like a dream. After watching couple of videos I slept on the luxurius wide leather seat occasionally waking up when the bus would stop in a town somwhere. In no time it was 8 in the morning and after a few more hours just looking over the country side I arrived at Puerto Madryn where I checked in at the El Gaulicho, another hostel in the Hostel International chain.
The weather was very warm and coming from El Calafate it seemed as I had moved to summer. Also along the long wonderful beach one could see families with their children, people walking with their dogs or couples strolling along the beach.
Decided to walk out to the Eco centre where the Lonely Planet guidebook mentioned that one could spend hours. Just the perfect day for this. The 40 minute walk out to the center all by the beach was awesome. The centre itself was interesting but not quite the information I was expecting, a bit small.
In the evening after wandering around looking for a place to have dinner I decided on an Irish pub. "Mr. Jones", a small pub-restaurant on 9 de Julio between Marcos A Zar and Mitre, was absolutely packed with local people, some with their children or babies. Didn't try the Guiness, not sure even if they had it, but they did have a strong red ale brewed in Argentina "Otro Mundo". Nice!
