|The one million people of La Paz, Bolivia didn't move on August 29th as there was yet another general strike. These have been common in the last few months as political unrest grows. The strikes, however, had no affect on our visit, just emptied the streets of the hundreds of buses that usually clog them allowing us free movement around the city. Wandering the streets we enjoyed 15 cent empandads, fresh juices, and lots of stalls of sweaters and hats. I joked with my sister Nancy that Doug might have to buy a hat for warmth. She howled with excitement and demanded to see a picture if such an event were to occur. Nancy, this pciture is for you!
