PEA Bell's Adventure 2006 travel blog

Hello dear people who still find time and a flame of interest with which to keep up to date with our somewhat erratic journey and colourful opinions. =0)

As you may have noticed from my absence from Andre and Dad's incredible Mont Blanc pictures, I did not participate in their adventure. Milly and Molly; my dear feet, finally "put their foot down" (heh..ok...i obviously need to warm up my writing skills) about what they insisted was an irrationally excessive amount of walking. In an attempt to win back their trust and favour, I took them on a relaxing trip back to Hay where the magnetism of the local pub kept us 'relatively' stationary, along with the incredible hospitality provided to us at Castle Cook, where some ever increasinglly great friends of mine 'officially' reside, and beautifully catered to Molly, Milly and My's long list of needs. During our incredibly relaxing stay, we could not resist a brief dance across the valley at ARUMDO festival, which was absolutely fantastic! It was one of those experiences where one seems to have stepped into an alternative portion of the Universe where it does not matter tuppence what one wears, says, looks like etc as long as one is dancing, smiling and generally enjoying and living life. As most of you can well imagine, it suited me to a tee. =0)

I was very lucky to share part of my time back in the land of good humour, with a very good childhood friend from Switzerland; Selina. Ofcourse we got up to plenty of mischief together, including some Wye river swimming...much to the amusement of the abundant canoes tumbling down from Glasbury to Hay. Is it me or is the canoe traffic on the Wye starting to match the density of the traffic on the M4!! Anyhoo it was all good fun and games and I was sad to loose Selina's company. Left alone I have a feeling I was far too easily enticed into using my protesting feet as an excuse to watch shockingly crap daytime TV....well for a bit....when a book was out of hand...heh

=0) I followed my beautiful bubble of Hay time with a very brief but sweet visit to my godparents and grandparents...and it didn't exactly take much persuading to help my Grandad celebrate his 79th birthday! Boy are people incredible! I think if, or should I say when I write a book, it will most definately have to be about my grandparents...such extraordinary souls and stories! yeah and then I'll get on my Dad's case to get on with his book...but somehow I have a feeling its a bit of a lost case seeing as he is still far too busy living life to find time to write about it. Not a bad philsophy I guess. =0)

And so it came to be that we arrived at Heathrow at 5am this morning, and I would be half way to India right now, if it were not for the slight issue of our travel agent miserably failing to bring the 'small issue' of Visas to our attention. So instead of sweating beneath an Indian sun, I am sweating out a Brighton Sunday Roast and praying for some luck (or efficiency) up in London tomorrow where we will embark on a quest for right of passage to India.

Thank you to all who take the interest and time to follow our story, may you all find plenty of colour and peace in your autumn and I look forward to sending you a future update from the land of curry, humidity, colour and inedible cows.
