| After a big night in Maastricht, it was time to head home as we had to pick up our new soccer kit from the shop and organise a few things for the game. Guus and I had KFC for dinner, which really helped after the night before, and then headed down to the field. We started our warm up and I was worried how I'd go after drinking the night before and not doing too much exercise in the previous weeks but I felt good and just had to wait and see. We won the game 8-2 which was a good start, I played in Right Fullback and scored from a corner, headed it in near the near post. I did a kangaroo hop afterwards and there were girls on the sideline who asked "Why is he jumping like a rabbit?" to which Nick [Guus's Brother] replied, "It's a kangaroo" and they realised I was 'The Australian'. It was a good win a good confidence builder before the start of the season 1 week from Sunday. |
