Gary vand Barb at Confederation bridge from NB to PEI

August 16 (continued) We arrived back in Campbellton to get the 5th wheel then on the way out of town we had to go under a 3.7 metre overpass, we just made it, and we went on to Bathurst, NB we stopped there for dinner at a Greek restaurant, very good food. Then we drove on to Miramichi, NB, pulled into Wal Mart for the night.

When we parked we checked out the license plates to see where everyone was from. Beside us was a motorhome from BC so we went to talk to them. WOW!! It is a small world. The people in the motorhome were Pat and Jill Borton. Pat was a co-worker of Barb's in MacKenzie in the early 1970s, she worked with him in the meat dept at the Co-op! They now live in Summerland, we spend the evening talking about Mackenzie, people that we know and the changes in our lives.

August 17/06 We said goodbye to Pat and Jill then left @ 10:00 for Prince Edward Island. We started off going the scenic route but the road was so rough and nothing to see that we went back to the main highway. We Stopped at Shediac Info Center which had a village called Gateway beside it with shops and a large lobster monument that kids could climb on. There were sailboats in Amherst Cove and seadoos on the other side in Carleton Cove. We stopped just before the Confederation Bridge into PEI to take pictures and had a picture of us taken.

We crossed over the bridge into PEI @ 2:00pm then went to the info center. The road going into it was lined with banners, very nice. It had stores and restaurants and lots of parking.

We are staying at Twin Shores Campground on Darnley Bay for 3 days and will do day trips from here. We are in the second row from the ocean with no one in front of us, nice and peaceful.
