Vic and I ready to go out

After Mel and I said our sad goodbyes to one another the Pattern family ever so nicely took me in for 10 days. Elena took two days off work and showed me some more of the English sights. We went to a typical English pub where all the kids were playing in the stream catching sprats on a Sunday night and had a pint and then went for a drive through little countryside lanes.

After a sleep in the next day we dodged the rain and had a look at the Cutty Sark (the fastest and greatest boat that carried tea to England) then we walked up to Grenwich where the time for the world is set by, so of course I set my time by the clock there.

The next day it was off for a day trip to Brighton. Unfortunately there had been a fatal crash on the M25 (motorway, ha!) so instead of taking us an hour and a half it took us three hours to get there but it was worth it. The weather was back to normal with perfect blue skys. We walked along the peir and had an icecream, had fish'n chips on the beachfront (not as good as NZ fish'n chips!)and had a wander through the lanes then it was time for home.

For the rest of the week I have worked at Elena's work along with going out for a curry, meeting some of her friends and doing a bit of shopping (at the biggest shopping centre in Europe, very dangerous!) and of course since it was Vic's bday on the 10th I headed to Clapham for the weekend to help celebrate with a night out on the town.

It was back to Elena's on Sunday night for a big traditional roast beef, yorkshire pub and all! just what the doctor ordered to cure my hangover!

Miss you all

Love Erin
