A day trip to this historic town which I took with a big group of cool peeps from the hostel (see Madrid party photos). After waiting over two hours to get a ticket at the station where once again the Spanish public transport system proved itself to be about as efficient as a donkey towing a helicopter, we eventually got there in the midday heat which got up to 39 degrees.

The town is fascinating to walk around and is totally steeped in medieval history which maybe is reflected most in the fact you can by a sword in every newsagents. And I'm not talking about a toy sword either. We learnt a little about the town's history and also about the Spanish Jews of the middle ages by visiting the synagogue. I would like to have learnt more though.

Went for lunch where the person cooking the pizzas seemed to have the same policy on service as the railway company, then after a while back to the station where another long wait followed but we managed to pass the time by chatting and taking pictures of old men in silly hats.
