We were up early today to be driven about 30 kms to Kas where we joined a motly crew of other tourists onboard the 'Merhaba', a wooden hulled gulet that took us on a merry day2s outing along the coast to Kerkova Sound... well, the so-called 2captaın2 cracked open the fıirst of his many beers at about 11 a.m. and proceeded to smoke cıgs and toss the butts into the sea as we motored along... İt was a beautiful day, perfect temperature and we did stop ın a few 'azure-watered, secluded coves' for wonderful swıms, but the boorish nature of the crew was a little off-putting. When we arrived at the fantasıtıc sight of the Sunken City at Kerkova Sound, our soused leader whizzed through a very memorized description of the place ın two alternating languages, german and english but no one could actually understand anything he said as the boat zoomed along the shoreline at a speed not condusive to seeing anything under the water.
Next, we were dropped at a little village where we climbed up to a wonderful wreck of a castle as the crew drank some more beer and slept on the boat. On the return trip, the engine overheated several times sothe crew sat at the front of the boat and drabk some more beer as we drıfted about waiting for the engine to cool off again...
A lovely day but could have been better...
