| Our sweet (and very basic) guesthouse is run by a very kind and motherly woman called Phatima. She gives us plenty of good advice on the area. We enjoy exploring the Dutch quarter with its old architecture and ruins. We also go to Chinatown for the night markets and take a ride in a trishaw blasting dance music and decorated with fake flowers and tinsel. A bit of a laugh. Malacca's downside is its smelly open drainage along the roads, with the occasional dead cat or rodent. |
