Mistletoe Bay

Our final day on the track, we had to make sure we were at Anikiwa by 4pm so we had to keep up a steady pace - it was another 7 hour walk. The first section was a pretty punishing climb onto the top of the ridge, reaching the summit at 400m.

Once up on top, we made good progress and enjoyed the great views across the sounds here. We could see right across to Picton across the QC sound. Gradually the path began to descend and we walked through lovely beech forests and down into Bottle Bay and then on to Anikiwa itself. We arrived with an hour to spare so we had a quick cuppa at the Blist'd Foot café before the water taxi picked us up.

Back in Picton, we were picked up by Ralph again, and we returned to Whatamango Bay for another night of luxury. We had completed all 71km of the walkway in good time so we felt very happy and pleased with ourselves.
