Endeavour Inlet

Punga Cove

Down by the jetty (1)

Down by the jetty (2)

We only had 12km to cover today so we took it fairly easy. We crossed our first swing bridge and past a tiny farm enclosure, complete with a boar and a tractor. The weather had held on from yesterday and was hot and sunny again so we took our time, savouring the views and the weather.

Along the way we met some other trampers including a couple of Australians, Bob and Ian, who we would bump into a lot on our travels later on the walk. We reached Punga Cove by lunchtime so we spent the afternoon relaxing in our tiny chalet that overlooked the cove and taking a wander down to the beach.

In the evening, we walked up to the restaurant above the bay and enjoyed a nice meal, bumping into Bob and Ian once again. Ian was particularly keen to talk to us, but it was hard to guess which of us he was more interested in. They suggested that we have breakfast at 7.30 which seemed like a sensible plan. Tomorrow was going to be the longest day's walk (eight hours) so we needed a good breakfast.
