World famous casino (James Bond Movies)

So we took the train into Nice which was very pleasant.

...lot's of cliffside homes in an array of colors. Nice was BLAZING HOT and it was a real bear hiking it up to our hostel, which was 30 minutes up the hill. Hostel was great and there were people everywhere. Our hostel was an old monastary so there was lots of room.

First day we decided to go to a beach about 10 minutes away. It was one of those beaches you only see in a travel brochure. Only problem was that the beach had rounded stones instead of sand, and it really hurt your feet after awhile. After laying out in the sun, Steve and I hiked it into town where we got some great thin crust pizzas at an outdoor cafe. The pizza here is made with a sort of oven toasted pita bread, which is obviously much larger. I had mozarella cheese, ham, black olives and artichoke hearts. It was delich.

Later that day we went into Monaco/Monte Carlo, which was ridiculous. The wealth there is unparalleled but only by a few places in the world. I've never seen so many 80-100 ft. yachts in my life. The cars they drive here are only Ferrari's, Mercede's, Bentley's, Rolls-Royce's, Mazeratti's, BMW's, Porsche's, etc. etc. It seemed like a great place, but the truth is, there is nothing to do in town but drive around in your sweet car. So we spent just enough time to look at the nice shops, boats, cars and took off. And before I forget, we did get to see the famous Monte Carlo Casino where all the James Bond movies take place.

more to come
