Motocross

Probably the most fun we have had on this trip - we went to the Greeley (Colorado) Rocky Mountain Stampede Rodeo! Neither Kevin nor I had ever been to a rodeo and we had no idea what to expect. Outside the rodeo arena, there was a true carnival-like atmosphere with food and souvenir vendors and all kinds of "fun rides". We had barbecue and funnel cakes for lunch and watched the "crazies" ride in the bungee seat ride! After that, it was time for the rodeo!! We watched bare-back riding, bronco busting, team roping, barrel racing, etc. Greeley is a fairly large rodeo, so there were some of the best rodeo riders in the US at this event. At one of the intermissions between events, they had 5 and 6 year-olds riding sheep bare-back. What a hoot! Definitely the rodeo riders of the future!! Then, at the very end, they had a motocross exhibition on top of everything else. Really a great day!
