Chris and Gretchen took us for a ride into the mountains, to visit their Church (Buddhist) in Ward, Co. It is located in a remote site in the mountains and it is absolutely beautiful. They currently have a tent set up for a retreat that starts on Saturday. Chris tells us that he helped lay the flagstone patio that the retreat tent sits on. It is quite large and I can only imagine how much work went into it. They have only about 50-60 active members, so - as in most churches - it falls on a few people to get things done....
After the visit to Ward, we visited a small town called Nederland. We stopped for coffee (it was really cold up in the mountains) and then continued on to Boulder for dinner. We ate dinner at a Tea House that had been gifted to the town of Boulder by their sister city in China. It was actually built in China and shipped over in pieces - then assembled on the site in Boulder. The workmanship was incredible and the food was equally impressive.
