We arrived at West Bay RV Resort in Rhinelander, WI late and a bit battered, but in better spirits since the temporary repairs held together just fine. West Bay is a beautiful park with shaded sites complete with large boulders as decorations.

Rhinelander is the home of the Hodag, a ferocious animal found in a cave many years ago.

Legend says that the Hodag had terrorized the area until it was captured in a cave. A group of loggers put it to sleep with a chloriform soaked rag on the end of a stick. It was put on display and people came from miles around to see it, until it was discovered that the Hodag was a hoax made from steer horns and cow hide. The legend lives on with the Rhinelander High School adopting it as their maascot.

Rhinelander was logging center of this area and has a very nice logging museum (see photos). There is also a boat and outboard display and a railroad museum at the same site. You cannot beat the price as everything is free.
