We'll leave the light on for ya'!! (on Uncle's site at Top...

Sunday, 2July06

Arrived here at 'Top O'the Morn' campground and RV resort after a day of driving through beautiful rural northern MI and WI. The last time we came out this way, we were on Rte 2 almost the whole way. This time, we've been above Rte 2 (on Rtes 28 and 141, among others) - just bordering the waterways. What a difference looking at the scenery through the big coach windows vs. the truck windows when we had the 5th wheel or the truck camper - a whole different experience!

Checking in here at the campground was like taking part in a scene from 'Northern Exposure' :) The 'Office' was at the end of the bar (which was pretty full) - and we ended up parking in the side yard of the owners (who are really nice people), in 'Uncle's spot', because the site we were supposed to have was still full. This worked out really well for us - full hook-ups, partial views of the lake, and much more space than we'd have had in the other site. Richard spent time talking with the owner about the owner's tractor (R. is shopping for tractor's for Bucksport prop.). We got good internet satellite signals, so we're all set for a few days. Will head north-west on the 5th.

Note: If you ever stay on 'Uncle's site', never leave your porch light on overnight - we inadvertantly did, and the owner was most upset in the morning (he had to hang a blanket on the window to block the light out!) - he also could have reminded us that it was on :) Brings new meaning to the slogan, "We'll leave the light on for ya'".
