Unfortunately, Renee was sick.. AGAIN on thrusday and friday, so our weekend started off a little rough! She pulled through though like a champ and still managed to keep up with me! Even though she wanted to go home... as in canada! ha ha Fortunately for Renee, that was out of the question, especialy once we found a direct bus to la Ceiba! I dont think you all understand how funny that is, because last weekend, we took 3 different buses to get there, including a local chicken bus with 60+ sweaty hondurans!

Our 5$ a night hotel in la ceiba made Renee feel right at home! ... just kidding. Turns out all you get is 2 beds, dirty sheets, a toilet with no seat or door and a pretty dirty floor! Its a good thing the Omega Tours came to pick us up real early in the morning because neither of us slept much!

Omega tours ¨jungle lodge in Pico bonito national park was absolutely beautiful! Set right in ..the jungle.. with trees everywhere, romantic cabins and an awesome outdoor shower and restaurant! We began our rafting day with a river hike, complete with swimming through the rapids, climbing boulders, cliff jumping and mock emergency danger situations! Then we went rafting down the Rio Cangregal. Unfortunately the water level was extremely low, so we could only raft a quarter of what the trip normally includes! We were four people in our raft with a guide and kept on getting stuck! Turns out rafting is hard work!

Exhausted from the rafting, we got a great lunch and then we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the rocks and swimming in the river, the scenery was breathtaking and water nice and cool!

In the morning we woke up to a scorpion on Janelles back! She got bit on her thumb as renee tried to 'slap' it off her yelling DONT MOVE or LOOK! Clearly when it started crawling on her stomach she screamed! Thankfully, it wasnt a deadly scorpion and Janelle lived to tell the tale!

The rest of the morning was spent lounging on the rocks and sunbathing! Needless to say we had a wonderful weekend!
