Nick said he would be okay celebrating in St. Albert (code, for "I'm ready to go home!!"), but Greece will be where he turns ten!!

My Birthday

7:30. I woke up in the hot tent. I realized that only Robin and Jake were still with me, so before I got to open my presents, I had to wait for Mom and Dad to get back from their run. I was shaking with excitement!!

Finally Mother and Father arrived back. We walked down to the beach and opened presents on the rocky surface. I got a Greek carving knife, a ceramic chess set of the Greek gods, a puzzle book about castles and a Pluto dog from Euro-Disney.

We drove to Tolo Beach, about five kilometers away, and rented a paddle boat with a slide. We took it out for two hours, sliding many times into the warm waters of the Aegean Sea.

I was very hungry but I wanted some "normal" food for a change and for my birthday. So, we went with a Canadian family (from Ontario) to a pizza restaurant on the beach. I had a hamburger and it was good! For dessert we had an ice cream cake which cost Mom and Dad a lot of euros. We lit it up with som fancy fireworks candles we got from our friends in Munich. As a birthday present, the Canadians (Shari, Tim, Megan, Dylan and Tommy) paid for the meal!

I had a great birthday!!!
