The Bouchers at Home on the Road travel blog

We arrived at Fort Wilderness on Thursday, and made preparations for the arrival of the Mendes the following day. Their flight got into Orlando International around 1PM Friday from Greene, and the Magical Express delivered them to the campground where we all (Nizhoni included) were so happy to see them!

We spent the next 7 days roaming the various Disney parks (although Richard and I were pikers and only stayed a few hours at a time!). The Mendes treated us to a great dinner show at the Arabian Nights in Kissimmee on the 23rd - delicious meal and great show! The heat was intense during our stay - the kids took advantage of the pool at Ft. Wilderness. The campsite was very good - the only real drawback was the lack of walking area for the dog (who certainly needed to work off energy after being in the RV much of the day). Disney's transportation systems are amazing, and make getting from one place to another quite easy. We rented a golf cart, which helped the 'getting around' aspect of the vacation considerably. Nizhoni loved riding in the cart, but the Fort WIlderness Security Force informed us that wasn't allowed. Too bad - she looked like she was from Homeland Security when she was 'on patrol' in the cart.

The Mendes took an evening flight out of Orlando (leaving Ft. Wilderness on the Magical Express) on Saturday, the 29th (didn't get home to the Cape until the wee hours!!), and we pulled out for Ocala, FL, on Sunday.
