May 1 - On the road again! We said goodbye to Patsy and Wally, thankful again for their friendship and hospitality, and by lunchtime we had made our way to Camping Transit in Levis, Quebec. After a quick sandwich, we drove into town to take the ferry across the St. Lawrence River to Quebec City where we spent the next few hours walking around Old Quebec, first the lower town and then up the stairs to Chateau Frontenac and the surrounding area, remembering some of the history of the city (and realizing how much we have forgotten!)

The tourists haven't arrived yet, and it is still cool, so many of the sidewalk cafes were not open, but we found a small patisserie where we bought a croissant to eat on the way back to the ferry, and some dessert to take home. We joined the early crowd of commuters who filled the ferry and then drove the short distance back to the campground.
