19 - 20 - Chengdu - Apr 19, 2006 - Chengdu, Sichuan, China

Arrived in Chengdu after 16hr overnight train ride - sober this time and feeling much better on arrival. Spent the day exploring the city (almost a country town at only

4.6 million population). Had a great traditional chinese meal - not 100% sure what we ate but we cooked it in a huge pan in the centre of the table over a gas flame - lots of fun.

Off to visit the Pandas tomorrow - can't wait (Fiona is excited too!!).

Then a 4 night boat cruise up the Yangtze River to the 3 Gorges Dam where we will be seeing history as the dam will be completed in 3 years and the trip will no longer exist.
