Hoges In Europe 2006 travel blog

Righto,

So the rest of Paris was amazing and exhausting, equally.

I got to the Louvre (right on opening, so the crowds weren't as ahidueous as they could've been), the Pompidou (I can't help thinking the outside is cooler than the inside - I'm betraying my artistic tendencies to say that not much modern art touches me aren't I?), and the Musee Rodin (really beautiful - all his fabulous works set up in his old mansion and the surrounding gardens - Balzac, The Thinker, The Kiss, oh my!)

After that I was pooped, so I headed home for a quick kip, with the idea of going up the eiffel tower in the evening, get the paris by night panorama, etc. I laid my head on the pillow about 6ish, woke up at midnight, so blew that idea. Bugger. So yes, I came to Paris and did not go up the Eiffel Tower, feel free to berate me at your will.

Next day was my last in Paris (the 13th). I gave myself an hour and a half to get across town for the train, in a cab mind you so it should have been quite straight forward. No, it seems. After a little victory march by those snotty Sorbonne students and some random off-peak road works, as well as the rudest woman I have ever met, I missed my train. SO a 2.5hr wait for Katie at the Gare de Lyon - not fun, as apparently I look like someone who wants to buy pot as well as someone who goes for "coffee" with strange men. Also had a 19 yr old boy who asked if I liked french kissing, so I was kept amused at least.

Got to Meribel at 10.30pm, Guy picked me up at the station.

I had a fantastic few days of not much at all, hanging out with P, lunching in the sun, arvo beers in the sun, then miserable cloud for the other times, but they have a substantial video collection, so it wasn't a disaster (PS. Natural Born Killers really is the weirdest film I have ever seen)

I got the overnight train back to Paris last night, and then the Eurostar to London this morning. My flight to Copenhagen isn't till 6 tonight, so hence my spare hour to write a new entry. No photos today sorry, I've checked the cord in to the luggage store at Liverpool St Station. I'll try and do another one from Sarah's.

Well my hour's nearly up, so off I pop.

Till next time kids, sorry if it's a crap entry, I'm a little vague from all the travelling.

Love K xxx
