The Hidden Torres

This Water is Freezing!

Valle des Frances

Glacier Gray

Crossing back into Argentina, we headed for Puerto Natales and the Torres del Paine National Park. We spent a glorious 4 days trekking through this spectacular park, crossing grassy pampas where condors soar overhead, climbing alongside glaciers, fording icy rivers and camping in fairy woodlands. Unfortunately the Torres - three granite pillars often cast in a watermelon glow by the sunrise - failed to emerge from the clouds the morning we scrambled up the rocky path in the dark, but nonethless, the trek was a stunning introduction to Chile.
