Sorry it's been so long. Computers good enough to put photos up are pretty scarce here in Laos.

Tues 7th Mar: Took a local bus to Phonsavanh today. We got to the bas station half an hour early and Mark still had to sit in the aisle! All the way. For 8 hours. Through the mountains. Poor thing. We arrived at a tiny town with dirt streets and not much else. Found our cheapest accommodation ever though - $3. Even had a hot water shower. Very tired from the trip so early dinner then bed.

Wed 8th Mar: Today we went to see the famous Plain of Jars. There are about 20 sites all over the country side but we only went to 3. Each site is a huge cluster of big stone jars of different shapes and sizes. They were carved in sandstone and granite quarrys around the province and brought there. But nobody knows why they are there and what they were used for. Big mystery. We also stopped at a Laos Whisky village on the way for free tast tests. Wisely, Mark stayed away this time (we all know what happened last time...).
