Us in the van
Us again!
| We have been here for the last three nights. I have now recovered from my tongue injury and am no longer goofy! We drove to the 12 Apostles yesterday and spent a few hours in the afternoon on Peterborough beach, but it was so windy that we got very cold and decided to drive back to Apollo Bay for another night. On Saturday we wandered around the town and bought a few provisions. In the afternoon we went down to the beach, but the sun was in and out and it wasn't the best day for a sunbathe or normal bathe! We went to the Apollo Hotel in the evening and shared 1/2 a local Lobster or Crayfish. It was very tasty and we had fun cracking open the legs to get the meat out! It seems now that we have got into the swing of camping and we are really disappointed to have to take the van back tomorrow. We were hoping to get an extra day at least and sacrifice our time in Melbourne, but I rang up and was told that the van was booked out the following day and so we had to return it as planned. It is a shame because we both feel like driving onto Adelaide and then back to Western Australia and touring all the way up the west coast! Unfortunately that isn't an option at the moment and so we will have to save that adventure for at least a year or so! I have a few more photos to add from our road trip, but my battery is currently very low so I will have to wait until we are back in Sydney before I can upload them. |
