Carly and Mark's World Adventure travel blog

Our latest mode of transportation!!

Mark "I feel pretty oh so pretty"

The Budda was stunning and huge!!

Get of my land!!

Sukhothai National Park is so tranquil

Its only 800 years old!!!

The detail still looks new

We boarded the 9.52am train from Ayuthaya to Phitsanulok and arrived at 13.57. Having learnt from our last experiance we rushed out the doors and headed for the first guesthouse in our book and thank god they had a room, albiet a cell from Alcatraz!! But for 2 pounds a night we are not complaining.

Once again we dumped our stuff and went for a wander and found out info on how to get to Sukhothai where we wanted to see some ancient monuments. Once we had sorted that out we went to have some dinner and found ourselves on Food Saftey Street but the worst was to come!!! We thought we would head to the river where we found (and we are not exagerating) 1000 Thais doing Aerobics on Healthy Street. We managed to contain ourselves from laughing enough to find a fantastic restaurant where we had the best food so far.

Having had the worst night sleep ever!! we caught a bus to Sukhothai (73km west)to view the offerings of the Historical Park. We were both blown away by the monuments and structures and really enjoyed cycling around like a pair of care free school children. The variation in architecture is so vast and amazing to see.

We are off to Chang Mai tomorrow so will let you know how we get on there.
