The next morning we took a 6 hour bus ride from Quito to Misahualli. The drive was actually quite treacherous. High in the Andes, the bus driver liked to hug the edge of the cliff (which is on the wrong side of the road) rather than the mountainside. I couldn't watch. For most of the ride it was raining heavily. Things got really bad when we hit a foggy patch that lasted for over an hour.
We made it safely to a very private hostel run by a french couple. The surroundings, which included an inground pool, were spectacular. We ate dinner in twown that night. The owners of the restuarant had two boxers, a six month old puppy and an adult. Of course, I played with them for an hour. I can't wait to see my little man again. I've attached some pictures sent to me by his daycare.
