This is our minesite. The photo of the plane is one of the two we charter to fly us from the capital Vientiane to our minesite.

There is basically two flights a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.

The flight takes about 1.5 hours and basically follows the Mekong river down then cuts in towards Vietnam. Most of these flights are quite spectactular, the scenery is mainly of rugged limestone karst's and dense jungle.

Yes this flight does concern me at times :-)

In the wet season, roughly may to september, we drive out rather than fly, because the weather conditions do not suit flying at all ! When we go overland it makes for a huge day of travel. The blokes that go back to Australia are sometimes travellng for 2 days before they make their doorstep. I can make a 5 star hotel bangkok in about 7 hours if im lucky and im happy with that :-)

The plane is parked up at our minesite landing strip. Our accomadation and workplace is directily in front of that mountain.

I think that mountain will dissapear in a few years as there is a mob of copper and gold under it !

The shots of the moon unit and the chopper is of one of my best mates spending his day off from life on the rigs in the North West of W.A I spend my day off fetching guppies from a pond and he's pulling coral trout on a chopper........

The shots of the Gold bar are miss Toun, my friend who is leaving to take a post up in the capital Vientiane. The bar is worth about $300 000....... and yeah, we make a few of them.
