At the Forrest Winery
| Left Nelson this morning with the intention of staying in a small village / town called Renwick, which is half way to Kaikoura (the next destination). Renwick and neighbouring town (Blenheim) are famous for their vineyards and wineries. Our intention was to check in to a hostel here, hire a bike and cycle round 5 or 6 of the wineries for tasting, etc. However, our hire car decided it didn't want to move anymore and defiantly broke down on the side of the road! Great! Luckily we were only 3/4 of an hour away from the depot, so they came out and swapped our car over for another / better one. This did mean we didn't reach the hostel till 4pm, so only had time to do one winery (boo hoo). It was a lovely one though, in a pretty and relaxed setting. |
