| We spent a few hours Saturday morning in Perth's Kings Park and Botanical Gardens before heading down to Bunbury. Clare and I couldn't stay awake to enjoy the scenery unfortunately! The family are really nice and the husband, Keith, took us Kangaroo watching in the evening. We saw quite a large heard of them on some private land and then go tquite close to some that were in a public park. The males are Huge! (These Roos are the grey ones, so smaller than the Reds) They are so funny to watch jumping about! In the evening we went to a house party with one of the sons, Chris, where we met some nice people. Unfortunately for me it had a curry theme where everyone took a curry! I had beans on toast before we left and then ate a popudom at the party!! Today (15th) we went out on their boat with the 2 sons in the bay in the hope of seeing some dolphins!(hopefully with a better success than my last trip (atleast i'm not paying for this one!) After only 5 minutes on the boat we saw a pod of them, we turned the engine off and one came over to the boat and was swimming around it for about 5 minutes! It was amazing - great photos to follow! We carried on driving around the bay and saw a few more. Then we went 'skurfing' - laying on a boogie board and holding onto a rope and being pulled along behind the boat! It was great fun, although the wind did pick up a bit and when they speeded up you'd end up bouncing along the waves! They seemed to learn by this so when it was thier turn to do some wake boarding surprisingly decided to go to a calmer bay (thanks guys!). Thry showed off with their skills, jumping the wake and buoys na dstaying stood up for long periods of time! This evening we went to 'Big Rock' - an area where the river is with some good rapids and pools of water. It was a beautful area, but the water was really cold - 'Fresh' as Clare tried to tell me to persuade me to go in, but getting my feet wet was more than enough!! When we got back we had a BBQ and sorted our stuff for leaving to go back to Perth in the morning. |
