Today we visited some of the famous temples of Khajuraho. They are famous for the excellent sculptures depicted life of 1000 years ago. The erotic sculptures are particularily famous because of their content, of course, but there are thousands of amazing carvings covering the surfaces of these temples showing amazing detail, movement and emotion. We also hired a guide here to show us around and explain the intricacies of the temples and carvings. This was a good idea as the guide, with 35 years experience, really knew the details and history of the site.
Though extraordinarily interesting for Amanda and I, Ezra was a little bored after a couple of hours. Very little wildlife except chipmunks and a lizard on the belly of Ganesha.
We had lunch in a tree house restaurant, bought more water and then went back to the Hotel to have our mid-day shower and do laundry.
Tomorrow we will visit some of the other temples. We will be in Khajuraho for a couple more days and then we are planning to go into Rajasthan, possibly by air to Agra and then a train to Jaipur.
Sorry, still no photos.
