Henro on the trail travel blog

Wondered what the crunching sound was underfoot at 4am this morning when he got up for a toilet break... Snowfall proper for about 4 hours this morning, leaving a good 5 to 6cm of snow on the ground at Temple 66. Enjoyed feeling the snow fall on his shoulders and the contrast of the white snow on the dark stone statues. Shared coffee and coco corn with another henro for breakfast and headed down the trail.

Was minus 1 this morning when Bob got up. Went crunching slipping and sliding down the hill and has completed Bangai 16 and heading towards Temple 67 and the city on Kanonji. Should be in an around the coastal town for about 2 days before heading inland again for the mountains and Bangai 17.

Completing the Temple circuit in order is going to add a bit of distance - doing Bangai 18 first would allow for a circuit that would save some walking...

Sounding strong with no body aches or complaints and really enjoying this part of the journey. Slept last night with thermals on - as well as gloves, socks and beanie and the cowl of the sleeping bag over his head.

Although sunny this morning there were heavy grey clouds hanging overhead when I called at lunch time and rain stopped conversation...
