Heading out on our Trek with a little trepidation without adaptive equipment on a 8 day trek I know nothing about but we will see how it goes. It is a beautiful day and we are excited about the trip. The saddle is alot smaller that the saddles Muffy is used to riding with and also has no place for her to grip. Instead she is holding on as best as she can to the front and the back of the saddle.
One hour into the trip and one sideways flip into the bushes Muffy makes. Back on the horse and off we go, with a little fear now of an 8 day trip. Stopping and making camp early, we see a couple of Monks that Trevor gave a ride to 2 days prior. They were extremely nice and up front, after sitting in our lounge chairs for 2 minutes they transferred to the ground saying it was very uncomfortable in the chair.
20 minutes after the monks left Jambays Uncle walked by. A colonol in the Bhutanese army and stationed just up from our camp, he promised to send new horses and saddles in the morning for Muffy.
A wonderful night with a full moon and a fire, we ate and enjoyed conversation under the stars, clouds and moon. A wonderful evening in the outdoors.
The next day the new horses were there as promised by Jambay's uncle, now she is a woman with extreme connections. Off we went to the next camp and a stone bath. Now that is being spoiled on a trek, we decided however that we would not do the whole trek but just go on day hikes and than return to Paro instead of Treking to Thimphu.
This was a stroke of luck because there was a huge cold front that came in and dumped four days of snow on the path we would have been on. Instead we spent 3 total nights on the trek and 3 days and Jambays before heading to Thimphu. She was so worried about us and all we wanted to do was read and learn how to play Marriage. Marriage we had heard it was a difficult game and it was but very fun.
Off to Thimphu
