A Sterling Adventure 2010

Welcome to the trip journal of Milton and Letha Sterling and Ida Sterling Londo! This is a trip that has been long in the planning. Letha and I have wanted this adventure since we discovered that there was a place such as Alaska. I'm not certain about Milton; however, since he has done most of the planning and routing, I'd say that he is excited about it as well.

Letha and I have probably traveled 3/4th's of the USA together. This will be our first long trip with a man along. Hum? However, my brother is fun and will be outnumbered so it should be just fine. He will probably do most of the driving. Neither Milton nor Letha will let me drive. I make them nervous which is okay since I make myself nervous at times as well. In fact, I won't drive in the mountains at all. Letha claims I'm the only person she knows that can plan a trip across country and actually miss every mountain range completely. Well, perhaps not completely, but I can come really close. But, traveling through the mountains with someone I trust is exciting and awe inspiring.

We are ready for the beautiful scenery, the excitement of possible encounters with the wild life and the adventure of finding new places. We all have prepared ourselves for some rough and rugged roads which we are sure to find. Milton has prepared the vehicles for them as well.

In just a little over a week we will be heading out to Alaska and the Arctic Circle. We plan it to be a slow trip since there are a number of places we want to see on the way. We plan to update the journal whenever we can and load it down with photos. All three of us love photography and Milton has a new camera and he's anxious to experiment with it.
