Joye and Hank Cruise the Rhine
Okay gang, we're at it again. We are taking another river cruise, this time down the Rhine. And, once again, we will be taking a Viking cruise ship which we really like since these ships only 120-200 passengers. This year, another good note is that the dollar has strengthened against the euro since our last trip. Thank goodness. Our trip begins on April 4 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Then it's along the Rhine into Germany to destinations such as Cologne (one stop there is a biergarten tour and "obligatory" brewski tasting), Koblenz, Marksburg Castle, Rudesheim, Heidelberg, Speyer, and the Black Forest; into France to Strasbourg and ending up in Basil, Switzerland. Quite a jaunt. As many of you know, our trip journals in no way bear any resemblance to the guides of professional tour guides (We will certainly not be mistaken for Rick Steves!. Our writings can get rather quirky and mainly recount our experiences and adventures rather than a travelogue of meaningful information. But, we get a kick out of writing it. From past experience, there is no way we will keep the journal up on anything like a real time basis. Chances are, we may not get most posts up until we return since we have to go through the pictures. You will receive an email every time we post. Hope you enjoy viewing it as much as we do writing it.
