And the journey goes on!!! Africa was very unique and deserves its own journal entries so I've decided to separate these for convenience and ease of access as much as just logical development. Anyone visiting the site check the homepage for Africa Plus to get the overall picture. Welcome to any newcomers, your input is always welcome...q's, critiques, or just plain yackity yack. We are really jazzed about this part of the journey, it looks to be very different than any previous both in language and travel uniqueness. Our (actually, Bonnie's) first indication of how things might go has been our encounters in attempting to get visas to the countries involved. Our first stop, Turkey, will be key to how this all pans out. We were only able to secure the visa for India in S. Africa so much of the rest is going to be from Istanbul or Ankara. Mari(Laxmi), Bon's sister will be joining us before we fly to Moscow and then continue on to NovoSibirsk, etc. So, off we go into the wild...yonder! Keep in touch, we enjoy hearing from you.
Update as of 12-9-2008:
We leave Anjuna & Bon's sister, Mari, to head S. & thence to Sri Lanka (for new visa) & return after 2 weeks in Sri Lanka to continue in India. Just the two of us - Bon & Tim - now, Mari continues to travel in India independently.
Update as of 2-18-2009:
We will be in Chennai (Madras), India or Mamallapuram until March 23, 2009 for Bon's hip resurfacing & recovery. Then the flight home to Missoula, MT after 18 months of continuous travel...hmm, I wonder what will come next? Stay tuned, ha!
