STORY: 'Religions of Rajasthan'
By Idoia Gómez Olsen

Hindu elephant-god Ganesh,
Lord of success, Destroyer of obstacles. |
Chittorgarh was a wonderful surprise. It's not like there is much to the town itself, but there's an amazing fort, 11 km wide, full of Jain temples, Hindu temples, castles, etc. It was very nice to walk along the fort and meet all the local people from Chittorgarh, who were having a leisurable Sunday up at the fort, praying, feeding the monkeys and taking photos of us, weird Caucasian people!
This time WE were the tourist attraction of the place, as opposed to the other way around. A nice change, I must admit. We joked with them and asked them for rupies for every picture and they were laughing like children.. more...

PHOTO: "Hare and Me "
By Brett Ratchford
As I hopped out of the jeep from Jaisalmer a mustacioed man approached me and offered to rent me a camel. Seeing I had no girlfriend by my side he knew I was desperate for some companionship to enjoy sunset on the Sam sand dunes, even if that companion was quite hairy and drooling a bit. The western sky, sun already low over the horizon, looked like superman ice cream running down a windshield. "Okay. But what's her name?" I asked as I climbed onto her back. "Hare Krishna," he said.
I looked at Hare and Hare at me and we rode off into the sunset.

MYTRIPJOURNAL FEATURE: Customizing Your Maps
There are over 300 maps currently available for display on MyTripJournal websites. Additionally, customers may request special-case maps, which are generally provided within 48 hours.
MyTripJournal's IntelliMap System (U.S. patent pending) provides a number of ways to customize your maps (click to the Map Manager and click the 'customize' link next to the desired map):
1. Add or delete cities, towns and historic places on your maps using the checkboxes provided.
2. If you want to add a city that's not in the list, use the 'Search For A City' tool near the bottom of the page. Check the results and click the + sign to add a city to the list. (Note: we try to keep your database results manageable, so if there's a city you've searched for that doesn't show, just let us know!)
3. If city labels overlap or run off your maps, reposition them using the N,S,E,W pop up list to the right of the city name.
You can customize your maps at any time: as you add them to your site, as you travel around or when you get home. And remember, whenever you need any help just pop us a quick email!

April's Featured Travelers:
Will the real Doug & Keiren Hale please stand up?

I met our April featured travelers at the RV Rally in Daytona, Florida just after our April newsletter was published. Turns out our April photo was actually of the Hales' friends, Rick and Pam Scholten. Here's a photo of me with the real Hales at the Rally!
