some of our 65 days totals - we drove 7818 miles - avg 21 mpg - 10 states - used about 372 gal of gas - hi- 4.27 lo-3.57 - visited 12+ national parks - highest temp was 113 (130 in desert travelling) lowest was 27 - lowest humidity 3%, why they call it dry heat - if you followed our trip, you know what we did and where we went. - took about 7gigs of dig photos or over 7000 shots. - we saw deer (several types), buffalo, moose, bear, roadrunners, coyote, hawks, eagles and big horn sheep. - highest elevation = loveland pass 11,992, lowest was 282 below at death valley, ca. and 120 below sea level at el centro ca. and of course i bought 10 new t-shirts that i REALLY needed - we want to thank those who traveled with us, looked at our many photos and read our comments/emails along the way - for those who did not, you missed some great OK photos and seeing places you may have been before. - ANYONE, can still see our comments & photos from this page using the "blue" links below next to the map for each day. each page is linked to the next with the big black forward and backward arrows at the bottom. also thanks for the many em comments, suggestions as we travelled, sorry it took so long for us to reply to them...we hope this journal thingy works for everyone and that you've enjoyed using/seeing it. as we think of other stuff to add here, we'll add it, so come back - and BTW, we created "bonding" years ago in our little home and with three kids then to boot! - this stuff, as of july 2nd, 2008.

(note) if you look at our map, you will see i tried to make the letter "B" for my lovely barbara who has made all our trips bearable in ways you'll never know... i doubt anybody, much less a lady, could put up with me in such closeness the way we did, we've had many of these! find all the nice words that start with B and that's barbara. (beauty, best, etc.) find those bad ones that start with R and that's me (rotten, rouge, etc.)
