Witch Hazel Introduction Program
This is the web page for W.H.I.P. the Witch Hazel Introduction Program. W.H.I.P. is a cooperative endeavor of Green Spring Gardens, the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. National Arboretum. With funding from the Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust, Chris Strand (Green Spring) and Tony Aiello (Morris Arboretum) are travelling to the U.K., the Netherlands, and Belgium to secure scion material from important specimens of witch hazel. The grafted specimens resulting from this trip will be added to our collections for the public to enjoy and for further research. Check on our progress by following the links below.
