Last updated: October 14, 2005. Irrashaimase! Welcome to my Japan 2004/2005 photo album. My name is Cara Pelletier, and I and my partner Pete Malysewich taught English in Fukuyama, Japan, from April 2004 to April 2005. I've been home now for over five months, with him to follow in December. I created this site to document and store all of our photos, and to show all of you what OUR Japanese experience is all about: Castles, temples, shrines, karaoke, bullet trains, festivals, kimonos, and friends!
Since a few other people have come across this site and have never met me before: that's me in the photo, third girl from the left.
There is so much to show you and tell you, and I promise to get all of it up within the next few months. One thing I can tell you right now is that reverse-culture shock is very real and it has elements that are biological, emotional, psychological, and cultural. Don't worry; I'll get into it more, giving you several pages of just plain text to really pull you into my world (or, worlds of thought).
Enjoy your visit, and when you have a chance, write to me with an update of all of your news! You can reach me at caralouisepelletier@yahoo.ca. This site is a work in progress, with new entries all of the time, so please bookmark it and visit often. Way off into the distance, I plan to put some or all of this into French, and this may have to become a book instead of a travel site in order to finish it. Donc, mes amis, recherchez les libraries dans les années qui suivent... |
