The Much Anticipated Trip Of LJG 2012 |

Welcome to our blog. This trip came about by serendipity. It all began in 2010 when Lauren and I had planned to go on our first overseas trip ( such amateurs it was going to be a P & O Cruise! ) Lo & behold even though it had been planned & paid for months in advance P & O contacted us the day before departure to advise cancellation - I know the day before !!!
After a few tears shed by myself we decided we were not going to let our annual leave pass without taking off on an adventure somewhere - anywhere !! We decided on Thailand for no reason apart from the fact we had heard lots of fellow Aussies had been there & loved it & it was cheap. We walked (or stormed into Flight Centre Parramatta) on a Monday & took off for our Koh Samui adventure on Wednesday. It was a brief 8 day affair however we both fell in love. This was September 2010. We both arrived home eager to plan our next trip & this time we took off for a little longer. 2 months in total spending time in The Philippines, Thailand, (Phuket this time) & Bali in May & June of 2011. The romance continued to blossom & now here we are July 2012 - Jan 2013). Our destination for this holiday was always meant to be: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, India, Mongolia & China, however things took a different turn when a dear friend (Ann Kalpage) returned from a break in South America with pictures & stories to entice us. Ann being great at what she does planted the seed & left the rest to us. What sprouted next was a new itinerary and now here we are ready to conquer: The mighty Inca Trail in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil (Including the Amazon!), Thailand (Chang Mai), Cambodia, Laos & finish up in Bali.
I hope you will enjoy reading of our adventures. May it whet your appetite to go out & experience more of what this amazing world has to offer.
As a wise man once said, when you are your death bed you will not look back on your life & wish you spent more time at the office, you will only have your memories to take with you. I hope to have an abundance of memories.
