Homeward Bound, 2008

gene and judi travel blog
Welcome to my trip journal! Our travels for 2008 have come to an end and we are headed home to Nashville, Tennessee for the holidays. Naturally, as full-time RVers we enjoy traveling and exploring our great country. But there comes a time when all we want to do is be with family. That time for us is during the holiday season—November and December. Since it is our hometown, we don’t do much sightseeing. Instead, we spend our time visiting with family and friends, cooking for those big get-togethers, and holiday gift shopping.

This year, I am hoping to also do a little family history research to fill in the many gaps in my genealogy. That is definitely a journey—a journey back in time exploring our families’ past. We are inviting you to come along as I visit relatives, old home places and cemeteries in an effort to learn a little more about ourselves. It could be a scary ride and there will certainly be some surprises. It will for sure be interesting.

As always, we like to hear from you so leave us a message with your comments and suggestions.

We have four other journals we invite you to browse through. Select Spring 2008 (primarily South Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee), Appalachian Trail (Judi’s backpacking trip in northern Virginia), New York (Finger Lakes region, Adirondacks, and New York City), or Pennsylvania’s Route 6 to see what we have been up to this year. These journals can also be accessed from the pull down box in the upper right hand corner of this page or our Travel Homepage.
