2008 Ashore...but not for long |

After four years living on Chapter III we have established a home base. Late in 2007 we saw our household goods for the first time in four years. They all fit nicely into the condo here at Oyster Bay. The winter of 2008 was spent on the third floor looking over the balcony at the boat.
The Solomons location has allowed easy access to grandchildren, the base wood shop and the local theater group. It is also the nexus of boating for the central Chesapeake and as such provides a steady stream of old and new friends from the water.
The plan is to continue cruising, returning to the Solomons condo in the Fall and Spring. This section of the journal reflects the duality of our new lifestyle as we complete round trips north and south in their seasons. As this is a travel journal, the time ashore will receive little coverage.
