Andrew's Pilgrimage to Africa The Motherland - 2008 |
|
Welcome to My Online Travel Journal!!
It's June 18th, the day before I depart Freeport,Bahamas. I have been trying to keep my composure as I prepare for my first ever trip to Africa! This is truly MY trip of a lifetime and I promise to make the best of it. I'm feeling somewhat melancholy to be travelling alone to such a very special destination. Tanzania will indeed be the furthest I have travlled ever! After a stop in The Netherlands, I will continue on to the east coast of Africa. I Played my last game of squash this evening..thanks for helping to get me somewhat into shape Crab! Squash, along with jogging the soft sand of Coral Beach will have to do. There is certainly no opportunity here for altitude training. Nevertheless, I just have to make it to the summit of Kilimanjaro and view Africa from that fantastic vantage point!
