Welcome to our trip journal!
We are getting ready for our first long sailing adventure and if you'd like to know more, read on. We'd love to hear from you too, so please feel free to comment or respond. We may not be able to get back to you right away, however, when we're on the boat. Remember, no news is good news!
For those of you who would like to know a little about us and our boat:
Belum (pronounced "belloom") is a 35' Wauquiez Pretorien, a French made boat. It's a sloop which means it has one mast.
Warwick (the skipper) has been sailing for a long time, and is finally living his dream of an extended sail. He'd like to make it a year or two, but we aren't planning that for this trip!
Wendy (the admiral) is a new, but enthusiastic sailor - and she's learning a lot from Warwick. She has been able to be helpful too - particularly in navigation and in the kitchen.
