Dan & Alice Woodruff travel blog
"All those who wander are not lost!"

Welcome to our journey! As of August 1, 2011, we are on our way in our 2009 38' Forest River Georgetown 373 motorcoach (and towing a 2007 Dodge Caliber)-where we end up, we'll be! We are Dan and Alice Woodruff.

Dan retired as of June 2010 and Alice as of July 2011. Between Alice's retirement and our departure, we took a quick trip to South Dakota to set up mail forwarding and establish South Dakota residency. We then hit the road! Where that road takes us is the fun part-seeing new places, meeting new faces!

How it all began...
Never having owned, driven, or stayed even 1 night in ANY kind of RV, in July 2010 we traveled to Chelsea, MI (from our sticks and bricks in Eureka, MO) to look at the rig that quickly became what is now our home. All it took was months of internet research and 1 test drive! We both fell in love with the rig that had only 373 miles on it! Dealing with the folks at Lloyd Bridges Traveland, (no, not that Lloyd Bridges!), we signed the contract and 2 weeks later, we brought our new home back to MO.

We immediately got our "sticks and bricks" ready for sale and 9 months later, it finally sold a month before Alice's retirement. In the meantime, Dan was getting the coach ready for the road as well as renovating a place to live for our 21-year old son, Joe. His twin brother, Ben, is in the Air Force, so he already had a place to live.

Our initial travel plans are primarily to follow the exploits of Dan's great great grandfather during the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War (2011-2015). But not exclusively--we will also be visiting other parts of this great country and workamping along the way. We invite you to join us on our adventure!

Please bear with us as this is our first attempt at blogging from the road. You may leave messages on this website for all to share, or email us privately at wanderingwoodruffs@gmail.com.

We hope you join us on our journey and look forward to seeing you "down the road"!
