UK and Sri Lanka 2011 |
|
Welcome to my trip journal!
Sunday, January 9th, will be my birthday and this year, I am giving myself a very special present. I leave on a trip to UK to see my beautiful grandsons and from there take a side trip to Sri Lanka. I am very excited. The only problem is, today is Wednesday, which means I have three days, and the list of things to do before I leave is approximately six days worth. Aaaah!
As with the Morocco trip, last year, I will be joining a small group in Sri Lanka. The itinerary is pretty much what I would have planned had I been travelling independently, but all the accommodation will have been booked in advance and the tickets for transport will have been purchased and so on. It cuts out a lot of aggravation, but of course, that comes at a price. Group travel can be somewhat frustrating for someone who is accustomed to independent travel, but I am prepared for that and I am going to have a wonderful time.
Of course, I will miss my three dogs and our daily walks on the beach, but I know they will be well looked after as Ivan is staying here to take care of things.
Thank you for visiting my site and for following me, on this, and on previous, trips. I hope that some of the places I visit and the things I see will be of interest to you. Please feel free to send as many messages as you like via the site. I think you can do that via the guest book or simply click on the "send message" button. I would also be interested to hear your suggestions as to what kind of things I should report on. Thank you again for visiting. I will look forward to hearing from you.
Pat.
