SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES, FALL 2008

Donald travel blog
We're off again, this time to the southwestern United States, which has been on our "bucket" list for sometime. The trip was planned around attending an Elderhostel Tour at Kanab, Utah, from September 29 to October 3, 2008. On the way there we plan to visit several national parks including Mesa Verde, Arches, and Bryce Canyon. We'll see the North Rim of Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Glen Canyon Reservoir, and Bryce Canyon during our Elderhostel Tour. On our return trip, we will return to Zion National Park, visit the South Rim of Grand Canyon, travel through the Petrified Forest National Park, and visit Kay's "birthplace" of Roswell, NM. Kay's mom was able to travel extensively after she retired. Donald's mom and dad stressed to him that he should travel while relatively young and healthy. Both of our moms are gone now, and Dad passed away September 15, just before we left for this trip, after breaking his leg in July and not being able to rehabilitate. This trip is dedicated to our parents. Join us as we explore this grand country. While we have included a number of photos, we will post significantly more on Picasa when we return home.
