Joyce and Sam's 2009 RV excursions |
|
Welcome to my Trip Journal. If I master it, you may vicariously enjoy some of our travels. If I ever master putting in photos...so much better. And if I am actually able to get the map part to work...give me a certificate.
We are excited to be starting our trip for the 2nd...soon to be 3rd time. In the past two years, we have started trips 3 or 4 times, only to have to return due to one crisis or another. Why would we have expected this to be different!! But the good news is that Sam/dad is feeling great now and we are anticipating getting back on the road.
Our first four days were to the Florida Panhandle. We had to do an alternate campground in Old City, because of flooding of the Suwannee, which was due to flooding of the Okefenokee Swamp in GA, which ran down into the Suwanee. We had beautiful weather for that short trip...enjoyed the lovely drive and rolling hills along route 90, and had a very nice campground in DeFuniak Springs.
On the way home, we went through Tallahassee, right by my old FSU dorm and school. It's still the best in Florida! We are preparing now to leave for a few days tour of the west coast (Clearwater to Ft. Myers) of FL, then across the state and up the eastern coast home. Hopefully, then to be on the BIG TRIP a few days later. Keep posted!
