Vagabond in America 2015

Ken travel blog
Welcome to my trip journal!

This journey is different than any trip I've ever taken before. I have no end date. Not even tentative plans for an end date.

I recently sold my condo and moved into my RV (Recreational Vehicle). My home for the foreseeable future will be on the road with no possibility of turning back.

Others living in their RV instead of a house refer to themselves as "full-timers". I prefer to call myself a "vagabond", going wherever the moment takes me. My son says I'm a "drifter". According to the federal government, I'm a "nomad". Whatever name you use, my residence is my RV. Wherever it's parked, that's where I live!

I've mentally committed to two years on the road. After that, I might settle down somewhere. Or, I might just keep wandering. I don't know. Travel vicariously with me as I find out!

In 2015, I stayed at 48 different campgrounds in 21 states plus 4 Canadian provinces. For details, select "Itinerary" on the right.

On this portion of my travels, I drove nearly 20,000 miles. Of that, I was hauling my RV for just over 8,000 miles. The rest of the time, I was exploring the area around me. I traveled slowly, averaging only 225 miles per week.

My adventures continue in 2016. I've started a new blog for 2016, see Vagabond in America 2016.
